Dr. Schmidt is from Raleigh, NC, where he went to NC State University for undergrad and then moved to the Triad to attend medical school at Wake Forest Bowman Gray. Following this, he spent the next 5 years at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center pursuing post-graduate resident training in General Surgery followed by a fellowship in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). He then switched gears into the practice of emergency and inpatient medicine at a small rural hospital in Stokes county, NC for a number of years. He is now glad to bring his extensive experience to the clinic setting at Tri-County Primary Care. In his time off, he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, playing tennis, and traveling.
